Whats wrong with my jaw? please help?

this happened to me, my dr and dentist call it TMJ, my jaw completely locked on me and i was unable to eat for days. after awhile the inflammation came down and i was fine, it has never locked on me again since than. the dentist can give you more insight on it, and a mouth guard, TMJ is mostly from grinding your teeth at night.
