Xbox 360 Profiles?

i have a friend over and he is getting a 360 for xmas so i wanted to make a profile for him now so that when he gets his he'll already have acheivment that we worked on. when i made it i didnt have to put in his email or anything but when you recover a gamertag you have to put email in so we created it but he has no way to recover it on his 360. is there a way for him to recover it or if nto can i delete it? (and is it a profile that we created or a gamertag b/c he wants that name but if i dont delete it will he be able to make it as his gamertag?)
