Have I wrecked a potential friendship by asking her out? Any advice appreciated?

have been working with a woman for 7months now and seemed to be getting on really well, our work forced us to be relocated and now we live in a block of flats on same shift. We used to share lifts etc to work and generally get on really well. I have recently started a divorce which has been on the cards for over a year which she knew about. In a moment of stupidity, I sent an SMS asking if it wud be ok to ask her out sumtime (meaning in the future) She replied saying we are just friends. The next morning I sent another apologising for making it awkward and hoped it wouldnt change things. She replied that I had changed things and to stop texting her. At work she now wont talk to me 'cept to barely reply to my silence breaking q's. on way home she now walks off in front and when I shouted can't we be civil she says she is, tried 2 say sorry nd got that she not want 2 talk about it. Should I just leave it now and totally blank her or what? shud I ask to know what I've exactly done wrong?
